Trade Assistant Job Description

The Labourer is responsible for undertaking general labouring duties at a recycling centre. Key responsibilities include:

  • Sorting and clearing waste materials on the unloading floor or picking station.
  • Performing heavy, manual labour in the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
  • Undertaking routine work as a member of a maintenance or repair crew, including lifting, loading, digging, moving, scraping, raking, sweeping, and cleaning duties.
  • Assisting skilled trades employees in maintenance and repair work.
  • Following internal procedures and work instructions.
  • Carrying out all duties in line with company policies, procedures, and processes.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions and work well under supervision.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks.
  • Willingness to accept on-the-job training and learn new skills.

Benefits and Working Conditions

  • Competitive hourly rate: $28.50.
  • Expected hours: 40-50 per week.
