Lead Automation Specialist

We are seeking an accomplished Automation Specialist to lead cutting-edge automation projects from concept through commissioning. This is a unique opportunity for experienced engineers to showcase their skills and expertise in industrial automation, shaping the future of manufacturing with innovative control systems.

As a senior automation specialist, you will be responsible for designing and delivering bespoke automation solutions utilizing your knowledge in electrical schematic design, component selection, and communication protocols. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop high-impact projects that drive innovation and efficiency in the industry.

This role is ideal for individuals with 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, particularly with Rockwell and/or Siemens PLCs, as well as strong expertise in robotic programming (ABB and/or KUKA) and vision systems (Cognex, Micro-Epsilon, or Mech-Mind).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, and integrate industrial automation systems from concept through commissioning.
  • Develop and implement automation and control systems for bespoke machinery and robotic cells.
  • Program Rockwell and/or Siemens PLCs and develop HMIs.
  • Perform robotic programming (ABB and/or KUKA essential).
  • Integrate and troubleshoot vision systems - including Cognex, Micro-Epsilon, or Mech-Mind.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics and lead component selection.
  • Ensure full compliance with Australian Safety Standards (AS4024).
