Our organization is a forward-thinking engineering business that serves various sectors, including mining, naval, commercial marine, architectural and general industrial.

The role we are hiring for involves working on a major shipbuilding project with a leading shipbuilder. This long-term contract entails pipe installation and fabrication for a naval ship project based in Henderson.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Ship Construction Team: Ensuring loads are properly inspected and prepared for movement, setting, aligning and leveling heavy equipment machinery, selecting rigging gear, and preparing rigging equipment.

Rigging Duties: Inspecting rigging equipment before use, maintaining rigging equipment, maneuvering loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand, breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections.

Additional Tasks: Daily pre-checks of overhead Gantry, hourly logbook maintenance, management and certification of all rigging equipment, assessing lifts and completing risk assessments when required, coordinating access to elevated areas for hook-up, ensuring safe landing areas for lifted items, clean-up of landing areas, security of lift/travel area, and operating a forklift as requested and performing daily checks.

Requirements:

Applicants must be able to attend work Monday to Friday, work up to 50 hours a week, and possess relevant qualifications and experience.

Essential Skills:

Rigging experience (minimum 2 years), confined space entry, strong safety ethics, willingness to learn and develop, driver's license, and own transport.

Desirable Qualifications:

5+ years of rigging experience, fire training and/or working at heights, high-risk license for EWP, rigging, forklift, and gantry training.
