About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Information Services Officer to join our team at Healthscope. As a Health Information Services Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the day-to-day functionality of our Health Information Services department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain medical records, ensuring all forms are in the correct order
- Retrieve medical records from off-site storage and collections from wards
- Sort and file medical records in main file in terminal digit filing order
- Cull medical records to be moved to our off-site storage facility
- Manage incoming telephone calls and correspondence
- Provide health information to internal and external clients according to Healthscope's Release of Information policy
Requirements:
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Experience in an administrative role in a healthcare setting
- Experience with WebPAS Patient Administration System
- Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality principles
- Knowledge of medical terminology
