About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Information Services Officer to join our team at Healthscope. As a Health Information Services Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the day-to-day functionality of our Health Information Services department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain medical records, ensuring all forms are in the correct order
  • Retrieve medical records from off-site storage and collections from wards
  • Sort and file medical records in main file in terminal digit filing order
  • Cull medical records to be moved to our off-site storage facility
  • Manage incoming telephone calls and correspondence
  • Provide health information to internal and external clients according to Healthscope's Release of Information policy

Requirements:

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience in an administrative role in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with WebPAS Patient Administration System
  • Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality principles
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
