We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide medical care to children, youth, adults, and seniors in their homes and other settings across Nova Scotia.
This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment with physical activity including lifting, carrying using proper techniques, bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics.
Key Responsibilities:- Diabetes Management: Provide specialized care for individuals with diabetes, including medication administration and monitoring.
- Dialysis: Assist patients with dialysis treatments, ensuring accurate measurement and infusion of medications.
- IV Medications: Administer intravenous medications safely and effectively, adhering to established protocols.
- IV/CVAD Care: Manage IV lines and CVADs (central venous access devices) according to established procedures.
- Palliative Care: Deliver compassionate care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, focusing on pain management and symptom control.
- Phlebotomy: Collect blood samples from patients, following established protocols for handling and processing specimens.
- Wound Care: Provide specialized care for wounds, including negative pressure wound therapy and complex wound management.
- Licensure: Be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice.
- Experience: Possess experience in community health, an asset.
- Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Criminal Records Check: Present a current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check, with a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check as required.
