Job Title: Regulatory Expert

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to contribute to regulatory functions and services.

  • Undertake risk-based regulation activities and make informed decisions in a regulatory environment.
  • Provide recommendations, advice and information in accordance with best practice regulation.
  • Support regulatory practice reforms and initiatives that achieve strategic objectives under relevant legislative frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake regulatory activities and provide recommendations that support the unit's functions under legislation and principles of good administrative decision making.
  • Provide recommendations informed by data, analysis of evidence and accurate interpretation of legislation and correspondence with stakeholders on decisions and outcomes.
  • Identify and respond to risk in the sector through application of risk-based decision making in accordance with legislation, exercising powers, gathering evidence and escalating matters accordingly.
  • Contribute to implementation of effective record keeping practices, data quality assurance and modelling appropriate use of regulatory systems.
  • Implement operational policy initiatives drawing on feedback, evaluation and data analysis to improve regulatory process and practice.
  • Provide quality advice and manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders on different regulatory activities.
About You

You will be highly organised, able to navigate complex issues and have highly developed conceptual, analytical and communication skills.

Interpret and apply legislation and policy in a regulatory environment, analyse matters, make sound judgments and recommendations regarding appropriate course of action, manage high volume of work, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
