Support Educational Outcomes

As an educational assistant, you will work within the teaching and learning teams to support teachers, students, and parents with daily activities and administrative duties in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Displaying empathy and respect for students with high-level needs and confidentiality, tact, reliability, and sensitivity to students and their families
  • Supervising small groups of students undertaking specific learning activities designed by a teacher when the teacher is not in the room but is available to be called on if needed
  • Working successfully in a team and within the school's philosophy and ethos to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes
  • Adhering to all policies and procedures relating to safeguarding children and young people
  • Conducting reading groups, maths groups, and other activities including gathering applicable resources in cooperation with teachers and consistent with curriculum, syllabi, and relevant educational policies and frameworks
Requirements:
  • Currently hold a Cert IV in Education Support or equivalent experience
  • Supporting the delivery of literacy and numeracy intervention throughout the school
  • Assisting with data collection and collation to assess student progress in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain them
  • A Positive Notice Blue Card or willingness to obtain
