The Role

We're seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in Melbourne. This position will be based out of our Melbourne office and will work on projects across a range of markets, primarily the Mission Critical sector.

In this role, you'll be responsible for undertaking electrical design deliverables, developing electrical designs using proprietary programs such as ETAP Version 20.0, and providing technical support to senior engineers. You'll also attend project presentations, team collaborations and client engagement, and participate in site works as required.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Undertake electrical design deliverables, including calculations, reports and design documentation;
  • Develop electrical designs using proprietary programs, such as ETAP Version 20.0, and generate reports, including load flow, fault level analysis and electrical coordination and selectivity analysis;
  • Provide technical support to senior engineers to deliver project deliverables, presentations, case studies and due diligence reports;
  • Attend project presentations, team collaborations and client engagement;
  • Participate in site works as required;
  • Maintain good design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction;
  • Complete project deliverables, meeting client briefs and expectations;
  • Consistently complete electrical design services projects within quality, budget and programme expectations;
  • Develop and maintain good relations with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors;
  • Assist and coordinate design activities, processes and technical standards within the MEP and CSA services delivery;
  • Undertake technical reviews of projects at appropriate stages to ensure project approach and deliverables are achieved.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant design experience;
  • Mission Critical Design/Data Centre Design Experience is an added advantage;
  • Previous experience within an engineering consulting company is desired;
  • Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, Visio and Autocad;
  • Familiarity with Rhino/Grasshopper and Electrical proprietary software such as ETAP, Vipcodia, Power Cad etc is an added advantage;
  • Knowledge of consulting and successful project management experience in the MEP sector is an added advantage.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
