Casual Sports Coach Position

Martian Logic is seeking a casual sports coach to join our team. As a coach, you will be responsible for the skill development of players at all levels.

About The Job

This role requires appreciation of all aspects of Martian Logic's philosophy, pastoral care, and general student management and wellbeing. You will ensure success with your particular team and contribute to the development of a sporting plan for your designated sport.

Responsibilities and Expectations
  • You are expected to conduct yourself in a manner that adheres to Martian Logic's policies and practices, maintaining standards of professional conduct and appropriate dress.
  • As a positive role model and representative of the school, you must ensure adherence to Martian Logic's policies pertaining to sport, conduct, attendance, and uniform.
  • You are required to attend professional learning opportunities when requested.
  • Your coaching must be in accordance with the sporting plan outlined by the Head of Sport and Teacher in Charge to ensure consistency of approach across year levels.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the commencement of a match for proper warm-up.
  • Ensure appropriate sportsmanship behavior on the sporting field regardless of opposition or sporting circumstance.
  • You must conduct training sessions in a meaningful, safe, and responsible manner in conjunction with the Marcellin staff member.
Operational Requirements
  • You are expected to conduct structured and organised training sessions.
  • Select teams for fixtures, including the selection of players and officials (where applicable).
  • Support the Marcellin staff member in submitting a detailed team sheet at the final training session for the weekend fixture.
  • Ensure that all match, training, and fixture information is communicated to all players.
  • Maintain all issued equipment and report any loss or damaged equipment to the Head of Sport.
  • Please provide feedback to the relevant Teacher in Charge about player behavior, both positive and negative.
  • Maintain a log of hours worked and submit a supplied timesheet monthly.
