
Disability Support Specialist

In these Local Area Coordination roles, you will be responsible for assisting people with disability, their families, and their carers to build and pursue their goal to live their best life, exercise choice and control, and engage with the National Disability Insurance Scheme - Partners in Community.
Main Responsibilities- Supporting individuals with 'permanent and significant' disabilities to apply for NDIS supports.
- Collaborating with participants to develop effective goals.
- Connecting people with disabilities to available support within the local community.
- Assisting participants to navigate and optimize their engagement with the NDIS.
- Improving community knowledge of the NDIS and creating new opportunities to connect participants to relevant services and support.
- A positive, approachable, and respectful attitude, with the ability to build and nurture relationships easily and confidently.
- Strong personal values based on empathy and compassion, understanding the diverse needs of individuals within your local community and able to coach, counsel, and connect people to identify and achieve positive outcomes.
