Project Engineering Manager

The Project Engineering Manager oversees the team responsible for managing and planning engineering content for projects and customer technical interface. This involves ensuring that the engineering department achieves the required technical outcomes on approved engineering projects.

About the Role
  • Provide leadership and management of the Project Engineering team, driving effective project planning and resource allocation.
  • Establish systems to support planning and ensure that Project Engineers are allocated, plans developed, and progress monitored.
  • Present and participate in internal and external status reviews, ensuring alignment with Project Management Office regarding tools and techniques used.
About You
  • You are a professional experienced in leading and optimising engineering project planning, with a strong engineering background and ability to provide clear team leadership and direction.
  • Key Attributes: Focus on project, task, and resource planning; Team leadership and structured direction; Risk assessment and mitigation; Ability to work in a matrix organisation and negotiate defined support.

Requirements:

  • NV1 clearance is desirable.
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree within an Engineering Discipline.
  • Currently hold or able to obtain Chartered Professional Engineering Status.
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Systems Engineering are desirable.
  • 10 years or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Product Life Cycle.
  • Experience and track record in management of engineers in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience of Australian Defence technical regulation frameworks and standards.
  • Proven experience in project/program execution within the ASDEFCON framework.
