Key Roles of an Undergraduate Development Engineer

We are seeking a talented and dedicated undergraduate student to join our team as an Undergraduate Development Engineer.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Civil Engineering student to gain hands-on experience, apply theoretical knowledge in real-world projects, and develop technical skills.

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a Bachelor degree qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification, with eligibility for acceptance to Engineers Australia upon completion. They must have demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

This part-time position (14 hours per week) offers a two-year contract, flexible working arrangements around university commitments, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • Gain valuable exposure to the workings of local government
  • Develop technical skills through hands-on experience on real-world projects
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals to deliver quality outcomes

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following selection criteria:

  • Be enrolled in and currently studying a Bachelor degree qualification in Civil Engineering or other relevant equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Have completed at least two years of full-time study in the above-mentioned degree with satisfactory academic achievement
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Hold a current Class C unrestricted drivers licence
