The ideal candidate will have minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification, a strong understanding of spices, flavours, and traditional techniques, and at least 3 years of proven experience in Indian cuisine.

This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and time management skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals, managing portion control, and ensuring dishes meet quality and presentation standards.

Additionally, this position involves collaborating with management to create menus, calculating food and labor costs, placing supply orders, and managing inventory to improve kitchen efficiency and reduce waste.

As a key member of our team, you will be expected to maintain high culinary standards, supervise staff, train and mentor them, and address customer feedback and concerns.

**Estimated Salary:** $72,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to menu requirements.
  • Manage portion control and ensure dishes meet quality and presentation standards.
  • Collaborate with management to create menus that align with customer preferences and reflect the restaurant's theme.
  • Calculate food and labor costs, place supply orders, and manage inventory to improve kitchen efficiency.
  • Maintain high culinary standards, supervise staff, train, and mentor them.
  • Address customer feedback and concerns, ensuring satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in Indian cuisine.
  • Strong understanding of spices, flavours, and traditional techniques.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.
