Senior Base Engineer Job Description

This is a full-time position that reports to the Regional Maintenance Manager - Southern.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance and Operations: Ensure adherence to Engineering Procedures and Certification requirements, maintaining safe and compliant operations at the Maintenance Base.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and manage costs associated with aircraft and GSE maintenance, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Description of Duties:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide proactive leadership of Perth-based engineering staff, participating in broader engineering directives.
  • Schedule Management: Ensure schedule-based rostering meets contract requirements.
  • Maintenance Planning: Review planned maintenance activities in advance.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate manpower, equipment, tooling, data, and aeronautical products for timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor engineering OTP, efficiency, costs, and other KPIs at the Perth Engineering base.
  • Audit and Compliance: Audit and update Regulatory and Maintenance Data held at the Base.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure tooling and equipment serviceability and manage preventative maintenance/service programs for engineering ground support equipment.
  • Staff Development: Monitor training & performance requirements for engineering staff.
  • Health and Safety: Identify and report on WHS issues & directives.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as directed by AMO leadership.
Requirements:
  • Proven Skills: Proven self-starter with a flexible attitude.
  • Team Management: Ability to manage a close-knit team and work unsupervised.
  • Initiative and Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to show initiative.
  • Time Management: Capacity to manage strict deadlines.
  • Airline Operations Experience: Experience in airline operations.
  • Location: Based in Perth.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Certifications: CASA B1 or B2 licence and eligibility for Saab 340 type training.
