General Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for operating production equipment, performing general building, machinery, and equipment maintenance, and ensuring the safe operation of mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes.
  • Inspect mechanical equipment for safe operation and necessary repairs.
  • Maintain irrigation and filtration equipment, including filters, pump equipment, and other related systems.
  • Record-keeping and reporting for maintenance activities.
  • Repairing equipment and facilities to ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Setup and movement of equipment, including lines and new equipment.
  • Emergency and scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment.
  • Simple machinist duties and responsibilities, including mechanic skills and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education, completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in maintenance coordination.
  • A background in agriculture is preferred.
  • The successful candidate must be highly motivated, able to work independently, and exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Diagnostics and setup of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate various types of equipment.
