Railway Maintenance Specialist

As a Trackworker with Queensland Rail, you will be responsible for performing heavy manual labour activities, including replacing railway sleepers, general labouring duties, and various other railway track maintenance tasks.
This role requires you to work in a variety of weather conditions, particularly hot temperatures, and be willing to travel across the region, including flood repair and emergency work.
You will be working a 9-day fortnight, which may consist of 7 days and 2 nights, and be rostered on to work every 2nd weekend and rostered off the other weekend.
Key responsibilities include:
\t- Carrying out labouring duties to ensure track safety is maintained and other duties as directed by the supervisor when required
\t - Ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently
\t - Traveling and performing outdoor work throughout the region, often in challenging weather conditions and high temperatures
\t - Working a 9-day fortnight, which may consist of 7 days and 2 nights
\t - Being rostered on to work every 2nd weekend and rostered off the other weekend
\t - Having a strong commitment to safety, your safety and the safety of those around you
\t - Having flexibility to work and travel across the district and work weekends
\t - Being able to work effectively and efficiently within a team
\t - Having trackworker or welding experience, which is advantageous
\t - Having front-end loader, excavator, skid steer, truck licence, or other licences / tickets, which are desirable
\t
About You:
\t- Hold a current 'C' class drivers licence
\t - Recent experience in a manual handling or physical labouring role
\t - A hard-working nature and a positive 'can do' attitude
\t - Flexibility to work and travel across the district and work weekends
\t - Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team
\t - Trackworker or welding experience is advantageous
\t - Front-end loader, excavator, skid steer, truck licence, or other licences / tickets are desirable
\t
