Job Title

We are seeking an Aboriginal Child Protection Professional to fill a challenging role in the Murrumbidgee District.

  • Work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and engage in complex problem solving.
  • Assist families in developing tailored strategies that align with their needs, addressing safety and well-being concerns, and provide appropriate support through home visits.
  • Develop safety plans and conduct thorough risk assessments.
  • Manage high-priority cases and situations, including working with clients who require additional support.
  • Participate in court processes, including preparing court documents and attending hearings.

This role requires a valid driver's license, a paid working with children clearance number, and documented verification of Aboriginality.

Essential Requirements
  • A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred.
  • Applicants without a relevant qualification must have at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships, supported by excellent communication skills.
