Job Description

The airport security screener plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of air travelers, airports, and aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation Security Officers provide security and protection of air travelers, airports, and aircraft in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Screeners use advanced electronic detection and imaging equipment to identify potential threats in baggage, cargo, and on passengers.

Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • A background investigation, including a criminal check and fingerprinting, is required prior to hire.
  • Security Screeners must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • A successful drug screening and medical evaluation are also required.
  • TSA's two-week new hire training program must be completed successfully.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds is a requirement.
  • Ongoing standing, lifting, twisting, and bending are part of the job.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment can be fast-paced and crowded at times.
