About the Position



This role offers a unique opportunity to join the UNSW Institute for Climate Risk & Response as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Climate Litigation. You will be part of a team driving cutting-edge research and education in climate science, law, and governance.



Main Responsibilities




  • Conduct and publish high-quality research in climate litigation, contributing to the Institute's mission to advance knowledge and inform policy.
  • Design and deliver courses on climate law and litigation, engaging students and promoting excellence in teaching.
  • Develop and maintain strong research collaborations with internal and external partners, fostering a culture of innovation and impact.
  • Engage with industry, government, and community stakeholders to apply research findings and promote UNSW's expertise in climate risk and response.


Requirements and Selection Criteria




  • PhD in Law or a relevant field, with a strong background in climate litigation or related research experience.
  • Proven track record of research excellence, with a demonstrated ability to publish in top-tier journals and secure external funding.
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills, with experience in designing and delivering courses on climate law and litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, build effective relationships, and contribute to a team-based research environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
