About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Officer to join our Community Facilities and Open Space Delivery Business Unit. As a Senior Project Officer, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of infrastructure works and projects within a defined program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, plan, and deliver small and medium-sized community facility and open space infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and manage project teams to deliver projects as defined by the client.
  • Ensure stakeholders are consulted and updated throughout the project.
  • Influence, negotiate, coordinate, and problem-solve to deliver the desired outcomes of a project.
  • Adhere to Council's policies and procedures, legislation, standards, and requirements.
  • Deliver projects in accordance with Council's project management framework and governance reporting requirements.
  • Continually assess project risks and identify ways to remove or mitigate these risks.
  • Contribute to ongoing business improvements to increase efficiency and provide value for money services to the client and the community.
  • Contribute to a positive work culture and be part of a high-performing team.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience in delivering Infrastructure projects.
  • Highly developed consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to influence project outcomes.
  • Exceptional ability to build and foster meaningful and respectful relationships.
  • Adaptable and proactive approach.
  • Hold a Diploma in Project Management and/or equivalent knowledge.
  • Hold a Certificate 3 in Landscape Construction - desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Project Manager.
  • Hold a Current 'C' Class Licence.
  • Demonstrated Infrastructure trade experience and/or qualification – desirable.
  • Demonstrated Landscape Construction trade experience - desirable.
  • Hold Workplace Construction Induction Card (or eligibility to obtain).
