Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Child and Family Wellbeing Service as a Case Worker. This role involves working with children and young people who are experiencing early signs of anxiety, depression or behavioural issues.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality support services that promote social and emotional wellbeing in families.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work from a child-centred approach to help children and young people recognise and manage strong feelings and build resilience.
  • Offer skill building for children through strength-based, interactive activities.
  • Provide whole-of-family sessions alongside individual sessions with children, or one-on-one sessions with parents to improve resilience and strengthen the parent-child relationship.
  • Ensure each family's preferences for wellbeing are recognised, respected and understood.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in social work, human services, psychology or similar.
  • At least 12 months experience in the Community Services Sector in Early Intervention, Child Protection or Mental Health.
  • Experience in undertaking comprehensive assessments with families and risk assessment/safety planning.
  • Child-centred and strengths-based approach to working with children and families in a mental health context.
  • Understanding of child protection issues and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
