Overview

The Design and Engineering Practitioners Professional Indemnity (DEP PI) Underwriting Manager is a pivotal role that drives the development, execution, and financial performance of the DEP product. This position involves building the product from scratch, executing strategies, managing an underwriting team, and driving profitable growth within the DEP PI market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive underwriting plans aligned with the overall product strategy
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the product remains competitive, profitable, and meets market needs
  • Manage and scale the product post-launch, overseeing underwriters, and driving ongoing product management and growth
Requirements
  • At least 10 years commercial experience in Design and Engineering Practitioners PI or equivalent Construction PI
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams in the insurance industry, with a focus on product development, strategy, underwriting, and financial performance
  • Strong understanding of intermediary markets, underwriting principles, and insurance products, particularly in DEP PI
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technology vendors and internal teams to define and build technology solutions that support business goals
