We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Operations Manager to oversee the management of the landfill site and operations in Coffs Harbour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard the efficient operation of the landfill, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies through effective coordination of employees and contractors.
  • Tackle recruitment and training challenges by developing strategies for landfill employee development.
  • Leverage resources from the Waste Services Team Leader to manage complex issues related to the landfill and transfer stations.
  • Mentor landfill staff on specialist functions as needed, while providing expert guidance on operational procedures.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reports to stakeholders, acting as a critical link between teams and local authorities.
  • Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports to inform decision-making and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree in Environmental Management or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
  • Five years' experience managing teams in direct or related roles, including supervision of employees and contractors.
  • National Construction Induction certification (White Card).
  • Certification in First Aid in the Workplace or higher.
  • A valid Class C driver's licence.

Bonus Points:

  • Ten years' experience in environmental operations or related fields.
  • A Class MR driver's licence, Forklift Licence (LF), or previous relevant plant operating experience.

Salary: Estimated $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
