Senior Geophysicist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geophysicist to join our Geotechnical team at WSP Global Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in enhancing our capabilities and reputation in the geotechnical field.

• Project Planning and Technical Deliverables: Assist with project planning and preparation of technical deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results.
• Geophysical Surveys: Assist in shallow ground geophysical surveys, including seismic, electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic, and GPR techniques, as well as over water geophysical surveys, including seismic reflection, refraction, resistivity, magnetic, and bathymetry data.
• Downhole Geophysical Logging: Assist with downhole geophysical logging, including televiewers and seismic methods, to gather critical data for project success.
• Fieldwork Management: Manage fieldwork during geophysics investigations, ensuring safety on site and obtaining high-quality information from a technical perspective.
• Data Processing and Interpretation: Process and interpret data using industry-standard geophysical interpretation software, integrating geophysical and geotechnical data for informed decision-making.
• Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Maintain and calibrate geophysical equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
• Problem-Solving and Safety: Use initiative and judgment to resolve problems, identify safety hazards, and report OH&S incidents.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise with and provide geophysicist support for specialists from other disciplines or offices within WSP.

• Location: Be located in Sydney or willing to relocate to NSW.
• Skills and Qualifications: Possess basic analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good time management ability, good attention to detail, ability to work efficiently autonomously and in a team environment, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, flexibility to work in the field for extended periods, sometimes in remote areas, and a Bachelor of Science or related discipline majoring in geophysics.
• Preferred Qualifications: Postgraduate qualification in geophysics is preferred but not essential.
