About the Position

This role offers the opportunity to lead the People and Capability section, contributing to the agency's strategic direction and ensuring alignment with its corporate agenda.

As the Director of Human Resources and Capability, you will be responsible for delivering a full range of HR services, ensuring people management practices are aligned with contemporary workforce objectives, and developing best practice employment and WHS policies.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Strategic leadership of the People and Capability team.
  2. Implementation of people management practices that align with workforce objectives.
  3. Development and maintenance of best practice employment and WHS policies.
  4. Design of frameworks for people management planning and reporting.
  5. Stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  6. Modeling integrity, safety, and wellbeing within the team and agency.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strategic thinking and collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management expertise, including resource allocation and outcome achievement.
  • Leadership and communication skills, including representation of the agency externally.
  • Comprehensive experience in People Operations, including strategic case management, workforce strategy, and work health and safety management.
  • Expertise in employment laws, compliance requirements, and government policies.
