About the Role

As a Business Data Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the continued development and scaling of our single source of truth for operational and financial data. This includes mapping and documenting current processes within the organisation and the future state of such systems and processes, identifying optimisation opportunities, ensuring data integrity, security, and governance.

You will also be responsible for analysing information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicting data, breaking down complex information into finer details, and abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding.

Furthermore, you will implement best practices for data visualization and reporting in Power Bi, derive actionable insights based on qualitative and quantitative data, update and where possible automate maintenance of the information platform with monthly and quarterly updates from the business.

You will develop, maintain, and enhance end-user reports utilising Power BI to facilitate data-driven decision making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions, evaluate potential software solutions, including off-the-shelf and open-source components, and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements.

Additionally, you will conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, business insights, and opportunities for improvement. You will assist with responding to investor requests and ad-hoc requests from the Strategic Finance team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. You should have a relevant bachelor's degree or higher tertiary qualification in either Business, Data and Analytics, or Finance.

Experience with source data analysis, data mapping, and identifying the source of truth for data across distributed systems/applications is essential. Proficiency in database management using SQL and Python, as well as visualisation tools such as DAX and Power M, is also required. Competence in utilising Azure and other tools within the Power Platform would be advantageous.

A results-oriented problem solver with a focus on insights while being tool-agnostic, you should be able to manipulate, analyse, and interpret complex data sets with minimal support. A high level of attention to detail is essential.
