About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our team at Anglo American Plc's Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD. As an Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tasks, statutory inspections, and ad-hoc electrical maintenance functions within the coal handling preparation plant (CHPP) to optimize its performance in accordance with the business plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of equipment maintenance, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate and work effectively with other maintenance and production team members, including contractors, to better understand and manage equipment maintenance and resolve problems impacting all areas.
  • Liaise with the onsite electrical engineer and communicate critical issues.
  • Carry out required work management duties and ensure that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed and to a high standard.
  • Prioritize efforts to reduce breakdowns and their duration, urgent unplanned events, and interrupting work that disturbs planned and scheduled work.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, attention to detail, and quality of work.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs that result in higher levels of plant and equipment performance and availability.
  • Maintain a high level of working knowledge of safety processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Educational background in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a coal processing environment.
  • Experience with safety management systems and knowledge of relevant mining legislation and statutory document storage.
  • Ability to work well within a team to achieve combined success.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
