Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Energy Market Trader Lead to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee trading performance in the Australian Electricity Market Operator (AEMO) market.
  • Manage 24/7 battery energy storage system (BESS) trading in the AEMO market, including exchange-traded and over-the-counter (OTC) products.
  • Analyze market conditions and develop risk-adjusted trading strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance algorithm performance.
  • Develop and document trading processes to improve team and asset performance.
  • Build internal analytical tools and dashboards.
  • Engage with customers to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.
  • Track market rule changes and translate them into software and trading strategy updates.
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of physical or financial trading experience in Australian electricity markets.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Data-driven mindset with informed opinions on Autobidder's development and performance.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously while influencing others.
