Job Title: Veterinarian Professional

About This Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the welfare and care of research test systems, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations, industry codes, and internal policies.

This position involves serving as a Study Director on assigned studies, providing guidance in establishing and implementing policies and procedures, and mentoring colleagues in understanding regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of company policies, state and federal regulations, and other assignments required to support welfare and care.
  • Ensure scientific and technical soundness of study design and proposed conduct.
  • Mentor colleagues in understanding regulatory requirements and proper use of methods to relieve or reduce pain and distress.
  • Participate in the AEC/IACUC committee and provide input on policy development and implementation.
Responsibilities

This role requires the following responsibilities:

  1. Welfare and Care Oversight: Ensure the welfare and care of research test systems are in compliance with local and national regulations, industry codes, and internal policies.
  2. Study Director Responsibilities: Serve as Study Director on assigned studies, providing guidance in establishing and implementing policies and procedures.
  3. Mentorship and Training: Mentor colleagues in understanding regulatory requirements and proper use of methods to relieve or reduce pain and distress.
  4. Policy Development and Implementation: Participate in the AEC/IACUC committee and provide input on policy development and implementation.
  5. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports and regulatory documents, including incident reports and veterinary activities documentation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A professional degree in veterinary medicine (D.V.M.) or equivalent.
  • Acceptable education and experience, as judged by management.
  • Strong knowledge of local and national regulations, industry codes, and internal policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
