As a vital member of the Hume Leisure team at Hume City Council, you will play a crucial role in operations while delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, all while upholding a high standard of professionalism and integrity in your role as a Swim Instructor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver swimming lessons in a manner that is both effective and responsive, aiming to uphold the highest standards of instruction.
- Execute tasks in alignment with the Centre Operation Plan, Program Area Operations Manuals, Work Instructions, and Work Plan.
- Ensure the highest levels of class supervision and safety throughout the duration of each session.
- Continuously enhance and update your knowledge to provide top-tier educational standards.
- Guide participants in achieving proficiency in swimming and related aquatic skills tailored to their individual levels.
- Set up necessary equipment for lessons and ensure proper storage post-lesson.
- Adhere to the scheduled start and finish times for classes.
- Follow established administrative procedures diligently.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong verbal communication skills for effective client interaction and instruction.
- Ability to convey knowledge of aquatic education skills effectively to participants.
- Capability to design and implement lesson plans that facilitate well-organized classes.
- Proficiency in demonstrating and performing aquatic education skills appropriately.
- Possession of an Austswim Certificate.
- Prior relevant experience in programs aimed at children.
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate, including CPR certification.
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality customer service.
