Support the classroom teacher in achieving the best possible education outcomes for students, demonstrating strong support for the vision and ministry of a Catholic school. The primary role of the Education Assistant is to facilitate student participation in educational activities of the classroom, meet regularly with the Class Teacher to assist in planning and monitoring Individual Education Plans, and be a member of the Educational Assistance Support Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aware of students' disabilities and develop a positive rapport with the child.
- Facilitate the student's participation in educational activities of the classroom.
- Meet regularly with the Class Teacher to assist in planning and monitoring Individual Education Plans.
- Be a member of the Educational Assistance Support Team.
- Assist during excursions, camps, school outings, etc., if needed.
About this Role:
The Education Assistant will work closely with the Class Teacher to provide individualized support to students, helping them to reach their full potential. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
