Apparel Buyer Role

We are seeking an experienced Apparel Buyer to join our buying team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in purchasing sports fashion apparel and will be responsible for leading and developing Assistant Buyers.

The role involves liaising with external brands and internal stakeholders to ensure the right assortments are bought and ranged for consumers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing sales trends to formulate quarterly sales plans
  • Managing budgets and planning future seasons
  • Efficiently managing space allocated to the department
  • Attending brand appointments and events
  • Maintaining and developing brand relationships
  • Negotiating with brands confidently
  • Briefing, building, and product developing exclusive assortments with selected brand partners
  • Staying aware of new brands and trends
  • Presenting ranges for sign-off with the Buying Director and Senior Buyer
  • Acting on in-season markdowns and proactively managing the future order book
  • Managing and mentoring Assistant Buyers

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience buying sports fashion apparel or a passion for the sportswear industry
  • Merchandising/financial planning experience is an advantage
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends
  • Solid knowledge of current fashion sportswear trends
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Negotiation and influencing skills is an advantage
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically across PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • A valid driver's license to attend brand appointments and store visits
