About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Sustainability Officer to join our Sustainability Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects identified in our Environmental Strategy, Emissions Reduction Action Plan, Litter Strategy, and Climate Resilience Framework.

Main Responsibilities
  • Environmental and climate resilience reporting
  • Delivering community environmental programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Supporting Council teams internally to improve corporate environmental sustainability
About You

We are looking for a candidate with 2 years of practical and relevant work experience in environmental sustainability, natural resource management, or a related field. You will also have tertiary qualifications and/or experience relevant to environment, engineering, engagement, or sustainability fields.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Ability to analyse data, manage databases, and prepare reports for environmental management
  • Project management skills, with the ability to undertake several successful projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, including the confidence to deal with the community and other departments within the organisation
  • Ability to work autonomously, use initiative to problem solve, and work collaboratively in a team environment
