Concrete Plant Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic HR Agitator Driver / Relief Batcher to join the Hymix team in Newcastle.

This full-time role will be based out of one of our Newcastle Concrete Plants. Once trained in batching, travel may be required between plants within the area.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about safety, results focused and has a strong work ethic. Effective communication and a willingness to go the extra mile for our customers is essential.

In your new role with us, you will be:

  • Operating and maintaining a concrete agitator truck and deliver concrete to our customers.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational concrete plant batching duties including loading trucks and associated yard works.
  • Liaise with all departments to ensure efficient operational needs.
  • Raw material stock control, stocktaking and ordering.
  • Front end loader duties to maintain plant raw materials supply.
  • Pushing and pulling of loads, including operating concrete discharge chute
  • Ensuring the designated vehicle is roadworthy and mechanically sound.
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner to and from designated sites
  • Having sufficient working knowledge of the product to comply with relevant delivery standards.
  • Passing on customer feedback back to the batch plant and sales team
  • Ensure all products meet 100% total quality requirements and all plant and equipment are maintained and working properly.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a valid HR License
  • Have previous experience driving agitators or working within the concrete industry.
  • Have a Construction Card (White Card)
  • Have a current copy of driving history.
  • Front end loader competencies desired but not essential as training will be available.
  • Be comfortable with use of computers and operating systems, training will be available.
  • Be reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
  • Be an effective communicator and have the ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a great attitude and strong work ethic.

All successful applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol screening. Random drug and alcohol tests are conducted on all Hymix premises.
