Teaching and Research Leadership Position

The School of Education seeks a senior academic to enhance its teaching programs, strengthen research capability, and deepen engagement with schools and communities.

This leadership appointment is established to amplify Indigenous knowledge systems and perspectives across the school's agenda. The successful candidate will lead by example as a high-quality teacher and researcher, mentor colleagues, and contribute to institutional change in line with La Trobe's commitment to truth-telling and reconciliation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Enhance the quality and cultural responsiveness of initial teacher education programs.
  • Lead high-impact research in Indigenous education.
  • Build sustainable pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and educators.

The role will involve travel across campuses to foster collaboration and engagement. In line with the university's Leadership Framework, the successful candidate will demonstrate the capability to:
