Family Support Practitioner Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Support Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide quality, safe, and effective responses to families experiencing family violence.

The role involves delivering intake support via phone, within the agency site, and through outreach visits. Additionally, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of clients
  • Deliver screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation, and coordinated referrals
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support integrated risk assessment and planning
  • Refer clients to services within the broader service system and provide them information and support

The Orange Door Program brings together workforces from various organizations to deliver an integrated practice model and a consolidated intake point for individuals and families experiencing or having experienced family violence.

We focus on providing services to vulnerable families who require extra support with the care, development, and wellbeing of unborn babies, infants, children, and young people.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with child, youth, and family welfare
  • Well-developed risk assessment and management skills
  • An understanding of the broader service system referral pathways
  • A valid and current driver's license

You will also need to be able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality services to families affected by family violence.
