We are seeking a highly skilled Media and Communication Officer to join our Corporate Relations team in Townsville, North Queensland.

This role involves creating and coordinating content for Australia's largest sugar manufacturer and a leading supplier of renewables.

You will be responsible for a wide range of media and communication functions, including strategic media engagement, stakeholder newsletters, internal communication, and digital advertising campaigns.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, strong interpersonal communication and interviewing skills, and the ability to distil and communicate complex and/or sensitive topics to different audiences.

They will also possess a degree or higher certificate in Journalism, Professional Writing, Communication, Marketing Communication, or Public Relations, and demonstrated experience in journalism, media relations, or corporate communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective media and communication strategies
  • Write and edit content for various channels, including social media, newsletters, and press releases
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including media, customers, and employees
  • Collaborate with senior managers to develop and implement business objectives
  • Travel to Queensland sites to conduct media and communication activities
