About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Afternoon Shift Fitter to join our team at Visy. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of action plans to drive continuous improvement and efficiency in our systems and processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant OHS&E legislation and regulations.
- Support and work with managers, colleagues, and staff to implement and deliver on initiatives that drive business growth and improvement.
- Maintain processes that ensure product quality meets customer expectations.
- Develop and improve systems and audits to ensure the highest standard of housekeeping and safety is maintained.
- Conduct compliance audits and rectify issues in a timely manner, documenting all non-conformances.
- Monitor outgoing material to ensure quality compliance.
Requirements:
- Trade qualification in a relevant field.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Practical experience in a maintenance environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to train and train others.
- Forklift license desirable.
- Availability to work on Saturdays (optional) with overtime paid at time and a half.
