Job Description

Our organisation is seeking a skilled Botanist / Ecologist to conduct field-based ecology survey work across various bioregions.

The successful candidate will lead and manage ecological projects, supporting clients with multi-disciplinary tenders and deliverables.

They will plan, deliver, and analyse ecology surveys independently or collaboratively, performing impact assessments and designing mitigation strategies.

Additionally, they will assist in managing the technical performance and delivery of ecological projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in environmental science, ecology, botany or similar, excellent field skills with 5+ years experience conducting and leading botanical surveys in various WA environments, including mining, remote, and Perth Metro areas. Proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages is also required.

They must have a WA driving licence and be able to work outdoors on short and extended field programmes.

Knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation is necessary, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Flexible work arrangements are available, including alternative start/finish times, part-time, job-sharing and hybrid work options.

Up to 22 weeks parental leave, 2 weeks paid partner leave and up to 12 weeks paid alternative primary carer leave are offered.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience conducting and leading botanical surveys in various WA environments.
