About the Role

The Gunnedah Shire Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Saleyards Attendant to join their team in Gunnedah. As a key member of the council's team, you will play a vital role in supporting the beef industry in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the saleyard facilities and equipment in a safe and functional condition.
  • Provide support on sale days as required, including ensuring records of stock sold.
  • Ensure animal welfare and public safety.
  • Provide team support and assistance to the Saleyards Team Leader.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the truck wash area, including EPA requirements.
  • Coordinate with stock and station agents, trucks, and other yard users.
Requirements
  • Reasonable welding experience.
  • Ability and continued commitment to work according to Council's policies and Code of Conduct, with or without supervision.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Firearms Licence.
  • Current valid NSW LR or higher Drivers Licence.
