Active Tree Services, a leader in vegetation management across Australia, is dedicated to assisting the City of Sydney in achieving its urban forest strategy through a committed team of skilled arborists. We are currently in search of an experienced Operations Manager with Cert V in arboriculture to guide our team and enhance our partnership with the City of Sydney.

This unique opportunity allows you to operate at a managerial level within Active, a company recognized for its innovative approaches, commitment to safety, and collaborative culture, while engaging in one of the most progressive urban forest management initiatives in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the NSW State Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our team dedicated to the City of Sydney, ensuring alignment with the urban forest management objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all aspects of contract execution and ensuring compliance with operational budgets and targets.
  • Mentoring and leading a dedicated team of professionals.
  • Fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.

This position is ideal for a seasoned urban forester and operational strategist who is passionate about safety, team performance, and client relationship management, with a strong focus on achieving results.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A minimum of AQF V in arboriculture and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in operations and client management.
  • Strong commitment to enhancing workplace safety.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Proactive in personal and professional development.
  • Proven capability in leadership and team management.
  • Experience in large-scale contract management.
  • Background in business development and financial management.
  • Familiarity with WHS legislation and Quality Assurance practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to delegate effectively and lead a team.
