Role Overview

Enrolled Nurse

The Enrolled Nurse plays a crucial role in assisting the Registered Nurse/Midwife by delivering patient-centered care that aligns with regulatory and statutory guidelines. This position is designed for Enrolled Nurses at various proficiency levels, working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse/Midwife while maintaining accountability for their nursing care actions.

This role emphasizes care for clients with intricate health requirements, offering both acute and sub-acute health responses to promote hospital avoidance. Collaboration with both Government and Non-Government organizations is essential to provide a coordinated and integrated service for vulnerable individuals with complex needs.

The position requires flexibility to work across a 7-day roster and may involve assignments across different services and locations within the Integrated Care framework.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practicing certificate.
  • Completion of a Board-approved program that includes a unit on medication administration is required for those administering medicines.

Registered Nurse

Employees at this level provide nursing and/or midwifery services within health service environments. They progress from novice to proficient practitioners, enhancing their knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and practical experience. Registered Nurses are responsible for their practice standards and oversee the activities of less experienced staff.

This role focuses on addressing the needs of clients with complex health conditions, delivering acute and sub-acute responses to support hospital avoidance. It also necessitates collaboration with various organizations to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to care for individuals with complex needs.

Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster and potential assignments across various services and locations within the Integrated Care division is required.
