Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Industrial Equipment Technician to join our team at Australia Post. As a key member of our operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mail processing equipment.

Compensation

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $94,000 per annum, plus 12% superannuation. The total remuneration package may exceed $100,000 with potential overtime and penalties.

About the Role

In this position, you will work closely with our Duty Technical Team Leader to conduct maintenance activities associated with mail processing equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring safety is always the top priority in all activities and adhering to Australia Post Occupational Health and Safety Policies
  • Performing maintenance tasks, including corrective, predictive, and preventative maintenance, in consideration of operational requirements
  • Accurately recording plant and material maintenance transactions using SAP
  • Collaborating with operations and other service groups to achieve high levels of reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness
  • Working at heights from mobile platforms
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in diagnosing, repairing, and monitoring mail processing equipment and systems
  • A proven ability to work independently without supervision
  • Participation in performance monitoring, commissioning, and continuous improvement activities
  • Experience working in a team-based environment and effectively liaising with operations and other stakeholders to achieve high machine performance
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize SAP as an information tool
  • Exposure to PLC and variable speed drives is advantageous
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Certifications and Qualifications

The minimum qualification requirements for this role include:

  • A current unrestricted South Australian Electrical License (Certificate III in Electro Technology, Systems Technician, or Equivalent)
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate III or higher, paired with a restricted electrical license
Preferred Qualifications

We would be impressed if you have:

  • A Certificate IV in Electro Technology (Systems Electrician) or equivalent (or progression towards completion)
  • Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management)
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Experience in IT, Data communications (highly desirable)
  • A High Risk License in Elevated Work Platforms
