Job Title:

A Swim Instructor Trainee position is available for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about teaching swimming lessons.

About the Role:
  • This role involves participating in required training and on-the-job instruction to gain the necessary qualifications to teach swimming lessons in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in a dynamic team environment, working with participants of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in required training and on-the-job instruction to become a qualified swim instructor
  • Assist in delivering swim lessons in line with Council standards
  • Set up and pack up equipment safely and efficiently
  • Support the development of program participants by learning their names and progress
  • Attend in-service training sessions and team meetings
  • Commit to assigned shifts as operationally required
  • Follow all operational procedures
Requirements:
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Experience working or learning in a team environment
  • Entry-level understanding of customer service and safety practices
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • No prior qualifications required – training provided upon appointment

Successful applicants may be required to undergo a Working with Children Check and/or other relevant checks. Applicants must hold Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with unrestricted working rights to be eligible.
