Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Retail Area Leader to join our Tasmanian team and lead our stores in Hobart, Devonport, Launceston, and Burnie.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previous Cluster Management experience in the retail industry. As a Retail Area Leader, you will be responsible for managing the overall performance of our stores in the region, including visual merchandising, inventory control, and staff management.

You will work closely with your Store Managers to develop and implement tactical plans that drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction. Your leadership skills will be essential in driving a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent people management skills, a proven track record of delivering results, and a deep understanding of KPIs. They will also be able to analyse data, make calculated business decisions, and think creatively to improve processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall performance of the Black Pepper stores in the region, aligning with the business strategy to maximise profitable sales.
  • Develop and implement tactical plans, providing leadership to deliver outstanding customer service through coaching, mentoring, and driving the team.
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by recommending strategies to improve performance across sales, staff, stock, and systems.
  • Perform employee life-cycle management, including recruitment assistance, training, and development.
  • Prepare monthly rosters to achieve store budgets and ensure staff are aware of and supported in meeting their goals.
  • Escalate and resolve any store or customer complaints promptly and professionally.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous Cluster Management experience in the retail industry.
  • A proven track record of delivering results, driving sales, and engaging teams, with expertise in KPIs.
  • Excellent people management skills and thorough understanding of performance management.
  • An ability to analyse data, act efficiently, and make calculated business decisions.
  • Interest in thinking 'outside the box' to improve and maintain a cutting-edge knowledge of our market.
  • A passion for customers and ability to organise and engage in internal and external eventing.
  • Good active listening skills, providing inclusive and supportive environments for the team and peers.
