Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to play a vital role in powering the future of mining operations. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, this position will suit an Electrical Engineer experienced within a fixed plant ore processing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the OPF and CHF plants are electrically operational to achieve reliable throughput.
  • Provide technical support to all plant faults and break down events.
  • Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams on breakdowns by providing specialist technical support.
  • Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and mitigate reoccurrence of breakdown.
  • Manage small to medium size projects and oversee project delivery.
  • Monitor Asset Management KPI's, identify gaps in performance and recommend actions to resolve.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience preferably in Fixed Plant Ore Processing.
  • Proven experience with leading root cause analysis investigations.
  • Detailed knowledge of principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining Fixed Plant and HV reticulation assets.
  • Previous experience with VSDs, protection relays and power system analysis.
  • Experience working with control systems, switchgear, instrumentation, HV/LV motors, variable speed drives, protection relays and PLC's.
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of SAP.
