
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

This position involves providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention services to children, adolescents, and their families.
The successful candidate will deliver care that promotes recovery and wellbeing, aligned with professional standards and CAMHS policies.
- Participate in a one-year developmental program incorporating supervision, reflective learning days, and coordinated learning of CAMHS Competencies.
- Apply developing knowledge and skills in child and adolescent mental health to clinical practice under supervision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and community organisations to ensure coordinated consumer care.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and support quality improvement initiatives within CAMHS.
- Hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification entitling registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia or eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Develop effective communication and teamwork skills, facilitating group functions and working collaboratively with professionals.
- Work with a high degree of responsibility and supervision, adapting to changing circumstances and directions.
- Demonstrate expertise in delivering complex clinical assessments for children, adolescents, and their families experiencing mental health concerns.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, engaging with other agencies and professional groups to design, implement, and evaluate therapeutic programs.
