About the Role

The SBS Indigenous Journalism Cadetship is a 12-month program designed for recent graduates who want to build a career in broadcast and digital journalism. As a cadet, you will be exposed to a variety of platforms, including TV, radio, and online, and will have the opportunity to contribute to SBS News and Current Affairs programs and website.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and produce news stories for SBS News and Current Affairs programs
  • Contribute to the development of news and current affairs content for SBS's website
  • Work with a team of experienced journalists to produce high-quality news and current affairs content

Requirements:

  • Completed tertiary qualifications in Journalism or a related field
  • Experience in television, radio, and/or online reporting or production
  • Sound knowledge of national and international affairs
  • Passion for news and impactful storytelling
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
