About the Role

Ventia is seeking a skilled Chef - FIFO Operations Manager to join our team at our Anglo American Mine Site Camps in Middlemount, Moranbah, and Moura. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient preparation and delivery of high-quality meals to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation and Service: Ensure the timely and efficient preparation of meals, adhering to strict food safety and quality standards.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the commercial kitchen, including inventory management, stock control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional results and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Implement and maintain a robust food safety program, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and statutory obligations.
  • Inventory and Stock Control: Conduct regular stock takes and inventory control activities to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.

Requirements

  • Commercial Cookery Qualification: Hold a recognized Australian Commercial Cookery qualification (Cert 3 minimum).
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year's experience in large commercial kitchens, with a proven track record of success.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Demonstrate sound knowledge of food safety standards, relevant legislation, and statutory obligations.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a high level of satisfaction among clients and stakeholders.
