Job Description
The Chief Operating Officer will play a pivotal role as part of the senior leadership team in leading and operating an innovative and safe waste management business in southern Tasmania. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and leading SWS operations and operational employees across all facilities, including the Lutana waste and resource recovery centre and Copping Landfill.

Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives
2. Manage and lead operational teams to ensure efficient and effective waste management services
3. Implement resource recovery operations at Lutana and introduce Organics Processing at Copping
4. Drive innovative change across the business to develop the SWS resource recovery business and drive waste diversion with Local Government partners and owners
5. Build collaborative relationships with customers and key stakeholders to provide best-practice environmental outcomes

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
1. Demonstrated success and capability in a similar senior operational management role
2. Previous experience managing and delivering infrastructure projects combined with a sound knowledge of asset management and risk management principles
3. Excellent people management skills and proven experience developing high-performing teams
4. Ability to build collaborative relationships with customers and key stakeholders to provide best-practice environmental outcomes
5. Experience in the waste management sector would be favorable
